What Is the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI)?

The BEEI is a joint effort between the Department of Basic Education, the Department of Employment and Labour, and supported by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). Launched in April 2025, this programme targets unemployed youth and helps them become more employable while supporting the education system.

This phase of the initiative is all about placing young people in schools and admin offices close to their communities to reduce travel costs, while giving them hands-on skills in computer literacy, teamwork, and communication.
