Apply Now: 36 Government Security Officer Jobs Available at Department of Correctional Services – No Degree Needed!”

The Department of Correctional Services Invites Suitable Applicants to Apply for 36 Security Officer Vacancies in Agriculture. The Closing Date for Applications is 30 June 2025 at 15:45.

Are you ready to make a difference while working in a stable government job? The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is hiring 36 Security Officers to work in their agricultural units across South Africa. If you’ve got Grade 12, basic training, and experience in security or farming, this could be your big chance.

These are not your regular security jobs. You’ll be working outdoors on correctional farms, helping make sure everything runs safely and smoothly while also guiding inmates who are learning farming skills. This is more than just a job – it’s a career where you can grow, help others, and build a future for yourself.

What Is the Role About?

As a Security Officer in Agriculture, your main job is to keep prison farms secure. You’ll watch over areas where inmates are working with crops, animals, and machinery. You’ll also make sure they follow the rules, stay safe, and complete their farming duties properly.

This job is special because you’ll be working in open spaces like fields, barns, and gardens, not just behind bars. You’ll need to stay alert, act fast when there’s a problem, and be comfortable working in both farming and security environments.

Where Are the Posts Available?

These 36 posts are available across several provinces in South Africa, including KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Limpopo, Gauteng, Free State, North West, and Mpumalanga.

Each post focuses on different areas of agriculture, like:

  • Plant Production: Vegetables and fruits
  • Animal Production: Beef cattle, pigs, poultry, and dairy
  • Other Fields: Abattoir and egg production

Make sure to check the reference numbers in the official advert to match your skills and preferred location.
