Nampak, in partnership with Optimum Learning Technologies, invites suitably qualified South African youth to apply for their 48 Trainee Production Operator Learnership positions for 2025. The programme starts on 1 October 2025 and runs for 12 months, giving you both classroom learning and real workplace training. The closing date for applications is 22 August 2025.

Programme Overview

The 12-month learnership includes two main parts:

Technical Training
You will study the theory side of production operations, including safety regulations, quality control, and equipment handling. By the end, you will receive an NQF Level 3 Occupational Certificate in Production Operation.
Workplace Training
You will rotate between different roles to learn a variety of tasks. This includes shadowing experienced staff, operating machinery under supervision, and making sure all plant safety and operational rules are followed.

This combination of theory and practice will make you job-ready and give you the confidence to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, you must:

Be a South African citizen
Have Grade 12 / Matric with:
- Mathematics (40% or more)
- Physical Science (40% or more)
- English
Have a National Technical Certificate (advantageous but not required)
Be unemployed and part of the 18.2 learnership category
Have basic computer literacy
Live within 50km of Nampak Springs
Show strong technical ability, a solid work ethic, and a positive attitude
