What Is the EPWP?

The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is a government initiative designed to help fight poverty and unemployment by offering short-term job opportunities, especially for youth, women, and people with disabilities. What Will You Be Doing as a General Worker?

As a General Worker in the EPWP programme, you’ll be doing important community work such as:

• Cleaning streets, parks, and public buildings
• Helping maintain cemeteries, community halls, and other municipal facilities
• Supporting basic repairs and construction work
• Taking part in greening projects and recycling efforts

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to all unemployed residents of Nongoma Local Municipality who:

• Are between 18 and 55 years old
• Have at least Grade 10 (Matric/Grade 12 is a bonus)
• Are physically fit and can do manual labour
• Have no criminal record
• Live in one of the local wards under Nongoma Municipality

Preference will be given to youth, women, and people with disabilities, in line with the goals of the EPWP.
