Absa invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Face-to-Face Financial Adviser Learnership Programme in the Eastern Cape. This opportunity is open to unemployed youth, and the closing date for applications is 16 December 2025. If you are hoping to break into the financial world and begin a stable career with one of Africa’s biggest and most respected banks, this learnership might be the doorway you have been waiting for.
Absa has built its reputation over more than 100 years, serving customers across Africa with professionalism, trust, and a deep understanding of financial needs. Today the bank continues to expand as a proudly African group, and they want young people to be part of that growth. If you have ever wondered how financial advisers help families, workers, and businesses plan their future, this programme gives you a real chance to learn those skills and start building a career from the ground up.
Many young people struggle because most jobs want someone with experience. This learnership solves that problem by giving you training, guidance, and daily workplace exposure all at the same time. It is especially valuable for people who studied Finance, Law, Accounting, or similar fields and want to grow inside the banking environment.
This is a 12-month learnership designed for unemployed youth in the Eastern Cape. You will work as a Trainee Financial Adviser, learning how to talk to clients, offer financial guidance, understand banking systems, and meet business targets. Although it is a training programme, the experience you collect is real and can help you unlock future job opportunities inside or outside the bank.
The learnership is ideal for individuals who:
If you enjoy understanding money, planning, or guiding others, this area of work might be perfect for you.
Absa will provide structured training sessions that cover customer service, financial advice basics, compliance rules, systems, and communication. These sessions are meant to help you grow step by step until you feel confident working with customers and supporting the team.
Your daily tasks will help you put your new knowledge into action. This includes assisting clients, handling simple admin tasks, managing documents, supporting team members, and offering basic financial guidance under supervision.
You will work according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). These rules help ensure that all work done meets banking standards for safety, quality, and compliance. This also helps you understand how big organisations operate.
Absa sets clear goals and performance levels to help you stay focused throughout the year. These targets give you direction and help you measure your growth.
During the learnership, you will be expected to take part in several important duties, including:
You must actively participate in all workplace tasks that support your overall development.
You need to attend and participate in all training sessions provided by the bank.
You will assist customers and support your team to ensure smooth service.
You will manage reports, track activities, and complete required paperwork.
You must work with leads and meet agreed productivity targets.
You will help deliver good customer service and maintain high satisfaction levels.
You must keep client information safe, follow approved scripts, and ensure all work meets compliance standards.
Because this role is related to giving financial advice, you must follow FAIS rules. These include:
Preference may be given to applicants who already hold an FSCA-approved qualification.
