What You’ll Be Doing as a Retail Shop Assistant

As a Retail Shop Assistant, you’ll do more than just stand behind a counter. Your job is to make sure every customer has a great experience and gets the help they need. Here’s what your day might look like:

• Helping customers with friendly and useful advice
• Selling tools and machinery by understanding what the customer needs
• Stock control – making sure products are counted, displayed properly, and always available
• Merchandising – setting up shelves and displays to attract customers
• Taking part in stock taking
