What You Will Be Doing in This Role

Cold Calling and Lead Generation

A big part of your daily tasks will involve reaching out to various groups of people to help grow the student pipeline. This includes:

  • Contacting existing students and asking for referrals
  • Calling parents of current students to check for possible sibling enrolments
  • Re-engaging inactive students from the college database
  • Contacting new prospective students to introduce the Capsicum brand and promote available culinary programmes

This part of the job demands confidence, patience, and the ability to communicate clearly. You will learn how to handle different types of responses, stay positive, and build interest in a friendly but professional way.


Telephonic Consultations and Student Engagement

You will also play a key role in speaking directly with potential students to guide them through the decision-making process. Your responsibilities include:

  • Initiating phone calls and explaining what Capsicum Culinary Studio stands for
  • Scheduling and conducting telephonic interviews
  • Gathering accurate student information for the database
  • Asking questions to understand each student’s interests and career goals
  • Presenting detailed programme information in a simple, clear way
  • Answering questions and making sure students feel supported
  • Sharing important dates such as application deadlines
  • Advising students about acceptance criteria

This part of the role requires you to be patient, friendly, and able to explain information in a way that makes sense even to someone who is unsure about their future.


Administration and Data Management

You will also have tasks that involve record-keeping and organisation. These include:

  • Updating student details on the internal system
  • Capturing accurate information after every call
  • Recording follow-ups and maintaining clean, updated reports

Good administration helps the entire team make informed decisions and improves follow-up success.


Customer Service and Relationship Building

Customer support is at the heart of this job. You will be the first voice many students hear, which means their entire experience with Capsicum can begin with you. Your role includes:

Minimum Requirements You Must Meet

To qualify, you need:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • A sales qualification is an advantage

Experience Needed

  • At least 1 year of sales experience
  • Experience in customer service or call centers will make you even more competitive
