What Is the Job About?

At Rosebank College, we believe in creating spaces where learning is easy, smooth, and stress-free for both students and staff. The Teaching and Learning Assistant (T&L Assistant) will help make this happen by supporting lecturers and the academic team with their daily work. This means handling admin, helping plan events, managing data, and making sure everything runs like clockwork.

You’ll be working closely with lecturers, students, and the academic leadership team. Your main job is to take care of the little tasks so that teachers can focus more on teaching. Think of it as being the behind-the-scenes superhero who helps make education work smoothly.


What You Need to Apply

Minimum Qualification:

  • 3-year diploma (any field)

Ideal Candidate Has:

  • A degree or qualification in education (optional, but a bonus)

You Also Need To:

  • Have no criminal record
  • Be skilled in using Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Be good with organizing information and working with data
  • Have 2–3 years of experience doing admin, tutoring, or data capturing

Main Tasks You’ll Be Doing

Here’s a breakdown of what your daily job will look like:

1. Admin Work (50%)

  • Filing and organizing student and teacher documents
  • Handling class materials like handbooks, access cards, and stationery
  • Helping to prepare student orientation sessions
  • Setting up academic meetings and writing down the minutes
  • Making sure due dates for assignments are shared with the right teams
  • Keeping lecture timetables updated

2. Event Support (10%)

  • Helping to plan student and lecturer orientation events
  • Organizing events like Top Achievers Awards and Director Visits
  • Booking venues and setting up booster sessions or masterclasses
  • Handling lecturer RSVPs for graduation events

3. Working With Data (20%)

  • Keeping track of student progress and lecturer development
  • Updating spreadsheets and internal systems with reports and feedback
  • Capturing study hours from online systems
  • Assisting with pulling data and opening important academic links

4. Lecturer Support (15%)

  • Collecting teacher availability for class schedules
  • Creating and updating lecturer profiles
  • Uploading lecturer documents to the internal system
  • Making sure lecturers get their timetables and are ready for classes

5. Classroom Checks (5%)

  • Making sure venues are ready for learning (whiteboards, aircon, seating, etc.)
  • Checking if classroom sizes match what’s needed for the schedule
