What Will You Do Every Day?

Here are some of the areas you’ll clean regularly:

• Offices and boardrooms
• Reception and customer service areas
• Kitchens, dining areas, and canteens
• Toilets, cloakrooms, and ablution blocks
• Staircases, passages, and outdoor areas

You’ll also be involved in:

• Vacuuming, washing, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing
• Emptying bins and replacing garbage bags
• Wiping down furniture, chairs, phones, and desks
• Disinfecting toilets, taps, door handles, and handrails
• Washing kitchen cloths and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Cleaning emergency exits and making sure walkways are clear

Weekly and Monthly Cleaning Tasks

Some jobs aren’t done daily but are still very important:

Weekly Tasks:

• Cleaning windows and doors (up to reach height)
• Washing and disinfecting kitchen cupboards and canisters
• Deep-cleaning non-carpeted floors and walls

Monthly Tasks:

• Cleaning leather chairs and couches
• Spot cleaning walls and carpets
• Disinfecting cloakrooms and reception areas multiple times daily

This helps the site stay in top shape all the time, not just on the surface.

What You Need to Apply

Don’t stress—this job doesn’t require a fancy degree. Here’s what you need:

• Minimum of Grade 10
• Previous experience in a cleaning job (especially in offices or commercial buildings) is a plus
• Basic understanding of general hygiene and cleaning materials
• Knowing how to use cleaning machines and tools is helpful
