Learnerships

AfriSam Now Hiring Boilermaker Learnership for 2025 – Apply Before 6 August! 🔥

AfriSam (South Africa) invites suitably qualified unemployed youth to apply for their 2025 Boilermaker Learnership Vacancies (2 Posts). The closing date for applications is 06 August 2025.

If you’ve recently finished school, have a technical qualification, and want to break into the engineering or construction field, this could be your chance. AfriSam, one of South Africa’s top suppliers of construction materials like cement, aggregate, and readymix concrete, is offering a Boilermaker Learnership to help young people gain work experience and formal training—all while getting paid to learn.

This opportunity is available at two locations in Gauteng: Jukskei Quarry and Eikenhof Quarry. But act fast—only two positions are available, and the deadline to apply is 06 August 2025.

🛠️ What is a Boilermaker Learnership?

A learnership is a work-based learning programme that leads to a nationally recognised qualification. In this case, you’ll be working in the boilermaking field, which is all about building, installing, and maintaining steel structures and heavy machinery in industries like construction and mining.

This programme is officially registered with the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA), so the training you get will be respected across the industry.

🏗️ Who Should Apply?

AfriSam is looking for technically skilled and motivated young people who are currently unemployed. You must meet at least one of the following educational qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics, Physical Science, and English (all passed)
  • N2 Certificate with four relevant subjects (Mathematics, Engineering Science, and trade-specific subjects)
  • NCV Level 4 Engineering Certificate with seven relevant subjects
  • Technical Grade 11 with Maths, Science, Language, and trade theory
  • Relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma (T, S, or N stream)

Bonus: If you have a valid driver’s license, it will count in your favour.

📍 Where Is the Learnership Located?

You’ll be working at one of the following AfriSam sites in Gauteng:

  • Jukskei Quarry
  • Eikenhof Quarry

Make sure to choose your preferred site when applying by using the correct subject line in your email (more on that below).

📩 How to Apply – Step-by-Step

Send your application via email to:
cm.gpnorthaggregate@za.afrisam.com

Use one of these email subject lines, depending on the site you’re applying for:

  • “Jukskei 18.2 Learnership”
  • “Eikenhof 18.2 Learnership”

Include these documents in your email:

  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Your Grade 12 results or other relevant qualifications

⚠️ Important Notes

  • This is an 18.2 Learnership, which means it’s meant for unemployed youth who have completed school or training but haven’t been formally employed in the field yet.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you don’t hear back within 2 weeks after the deadline, please assume your application was unsuccessful.
  • AfriSam is committed to Employment Equity. Applicants from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

✅ Why You Should Apply

Here’s what makes this learnership worth it:

  • Only 2 positions available, meaning the training will be more focused and hands-on
  • You’ll gain in-demand boilermaking skills used across mining, engineering, and construction industries
  • It’s a chance to get real-world experience while working at one of South Africa’s most respected construction material companies
  • A successful learnership could open doors to future employment opportunities or further training

🕒 Deadline to Apply

Make sure to send your application before 06 August 2025. Don’t leave it until the last minute!
