About the Warehouse Assistant Role

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will help keep daily operations running smoothly by managing goods coming in and going out of the warehouse. You’ll be part of a professional team that values safety, teamwork, and efficiency.

Your work will involve receiving, storing, moving, and delivering materials, while maintaining accurate records of all stock. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, pays attention to detail, and wants to learn how supply chains and logistics work in a large company.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Anglo American team, your duties will include:

• Following all health, safety, and environmental rules at all times.
• Working closely with your supervisors and team members to meet company goals.
• Helping with inventory movement, including picking, packing, binning, and delivery.
• Checking for damaged or missing items and reporting them immediately.
• Keeping the warehouse clean and organized by using 5S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain).
• Following FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to ensure proper stock rotation.
• Helping with cycle counts, bin verification, and stock labeling to keep inventory records accurate.
• Preparing and submitting reports, logs, and other documentation as needed.
• Supporting your team with additional warehouse tasks when required.

What You’ll Need

To qualify for this position, you should have:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• A certificate in Supply Chain or Logistics (NQF 4) will be an added advantage.
• A valid South African driver’s license.

Experience and Skills

• 1–2 years of experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP).
• The ability to solve problems using logic and attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of warehousing standards and best practices.
