About the Van Assistant Role

The Van Assistant role is a key part of the Indigo Brands transport team. You’ll be working closely with drivers to ensure smooth, safe, and timely deliveries to customers and suppliers. Key Responsibilities

Your main duties as a Van Assistant will include:

• Professional Conduct: Always present yourself neatly and wear the correct PPE while on duty.
• Customer Interaction: Represent Indigo Brands professionally when visiting client sites and follow all customer policies and safety procedures.
• Deliveries and Collections:
  • Assist drivers in collecting and delivering documents, parcels, and products.
  • Ensure that each delivery has the correct Proof of Delivery (POD) attached.
  • Handle urgent deliveries and local runs efficiently—even outside normal working hours when needed.
  • Check and verify all goods during loading and unloading.
  • Return signed PODs to the Debrief Clerk after each delivery.
  • Report any stock shortages or discrepancies immediately.
• Safety and Housekeeping:
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
  • Follow safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Suggest improvements for better workflow or safety when necessary.
• Team Meetings:
  • Take part in Green Area meetings to discuss issues, share ideas, and keep your workspace organised and tidy.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
• The ability to perform physical tasks and be in good health.

Additional Advantages:

• Valid Code 14 driver’s licence.
