About the Production Learnership Programme

What This Learnership Is About

ArcelorMittal South Africa is offering Production Learnership opportunities to individuals who have completed Grade 12. Successful candidates will be trained as Process Operators at the Vanderbijlpark operations.

This is a 36-month learnership, running from 2026 to 2029. The programme is designed to give learners both theoretical knowledge and practical, on-the-job experience in steel manufacturing.


Structure of the Learnership

The learnership follows a structured, outcome-based training model. This means learners are trained step by step, with clear goals and regular assessments.

Training Includes:

  • Institutional or classroom-based learning
  • Practical on-the-job training in a real production environment
  • Continuous assessments to track progress
  • Regular monitoring and feedback

Learners will sign a Learner’s Agreement for the full 36 months. A contractual training agreement will apply throughout the duration of the programme.

  • English: 45%
  • Mathematics: 40%
    • OR Mathematics Literacy: 50%
