What the Demand Planner Role Involves

As a Demand Planner, your main responsibility will be to make sure the right products are always available in the right quantities, at the right time. You will play a key part in keeping Boxer’s shelves fully stocked and ensuring smooth product flow across various departments.

This role will require you to work closely with buyers, suppliers, and other team members to create accurate forecasts and manage inventory efficiently. Your work will directly affect how the company meets customer needs, drives sales, and maintains profitability.

In this position, attention to detail and the ability to make smart decisions under pressure will be essential. You’ll use your planning and analytical skills to track product trends, manage promotional stock, and ensure every store is ready for customer demand.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Boxer Demand Planner role, applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A 3-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or Finance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a demand or inventory planning role, preferably in the FMCG retail sector.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with demand planning tools such as FnR, Cube, or BoMM.
  • A good understanding of inventory health metrics and replenishment cycles.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical reasoning abilities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for working with multiple stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

In this exciting short-term role, your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Developing and managing demand strategies alongside Buyers.
  • Forecasting sales using data from past trends and the FnR system.
  • Managing supplier lead times and ensuring smooth product replenishment.
  • Handling aged, discontinued, and slow-moving stock efficiently.
  • Planning and authorizing future promotions to ensure stock readiness.
  • Supporting new store openings and store gradings with accurate demand plans.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to ensure optimal stock allocations.
  • Conducting detailed SKU-level performance analysis to support business decisions.
  • Tracking and monitoring promotional readiness from start to finish.
  • Maintaining reporting tools to ensure visibility across departments.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, identifying risks, and taking corrective action.
  • Participating in supplier performance reviews to enhance collaboration.
  • Tracking and managing weekly KPIs for performance improvement.
  • Guiding and supporting junior members of the planning team.
