What This Job Is All About

As a General Assistant, your main responsibility is to help customers and support daily operations in the yard or store. This includes loading goods, keeping the area clean, and making sure stock is handled properly.

You will also work with delivery drivers and help prepare stock for transfers. This job is ideal if you enjoy working with your hands and staying active throughout the day.

Your Daily Duties and Responsibilities

Loading and Stock Handling

• Load customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and transfer trucks
• Make sure items are correct and safely loaded
• Stack and organize stock properly
• Help pull stock for transfers

Stock Control

• Count stock accurately
• Report shortages or damaged items
• Assist with regular stocktaking

Customer Service

• Help customers with their purchases
• Provide friendly and helpful service
• Share basic product knowledge when needed

Cleaning and Housekeeping

• Sweep and keep the work area clean
• Maintain a neat and organized environment
• Follow good housekeeping standards

General Support

• Bag materials like sand and stone
