What’s the Job About?

As a Marker and Packer in the stock department, your main goal is to make sure that all products are correctly marked, packed, and stored so that customers can shop easily and safely. This job plays a big role in making sure the store runs smoothly and helps increase sales by keeping things neat, tidy, and ready to go.

Your Day-to-Day Tasks Will Include:

• Marking stock with barcode stickers whenever needed.
• Unpacking and marking incoming orders within the given timeframes.
• Packing items into the correct department and correct locations.
• Making sure that all products are stored in a safe and organized way.
• Helping the Store Person pick stock for customer orders.
• Assisting Merchandisers with pre-packing stock for displays.
• Keeping merchandising standards high – ensuring items are coded, labeled, and sorted correctly.
• Following instructions from your supervisor and respecting store procedures.
• Reporting to your manager if you leave your post (for breaks, restroom, etc.).
• Helping with regular stock checks and inventory counts.
• Keeping your work area clean and safe.
• Taking on any other store-related tasks your supervisor may give you.

What You Need to Apply

To apply for this role, make sure you meet the following requirements:

• You have completed Matric or at least 3 Intercept courses that add up to 120 credits.
• You’ve got 1 year of experience doing a similar job (packing, stock handling, etc.).
• You’ve completed the Brights Induction on Service Excellence.
• You are friendly, have good people skills, and enjoy helping customers.
• You stay alert and are always aware of what’s happening around you.
• You can stay calm under pressure and work hard even during busy times.
• You have good numerical skills – for counting stock and checking quantities.
• You can work well both in a team and on your own.
• You are very organized and pay close attention to small details.
• You’re open to working flexible hours, including holidays if needed.
