About the Role

The Buyers Assistant plays an important role in helping the buying team keep everything running smoothly. Your job will be to capture and manage data on the company’s buying system, handle queries from stores and suppliers, and perform various administrative tasks that support the Buyer.

Key Responsibilities

As a Buyers Assistant at Checkers, your daily duties will include:

• Capturing buying-related data on the system, including costings, pricing, store orders, and allocation details.
• Filing important documents and maintaining accurate records.
• Requesting supplier and store performance reports when needed.
• Resolving store queries through email or phone.
• Providing secretarial support to Buyers, including scheduling appointments and typing emails.
• Ensuring that all captured information is correct and up to date to assist the Buyer in making informed decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, applicants must have:

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Office administration or data capturing experience.

Having prior experience in a retail or office environment will be a strong advantage.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Good typing speed and accuracy when capturing data.
