🛒 What Does a Merchandiser Do?

As a Merchandiser at Checkers Liquor, you’ll be responsible for making sure shelves are stocked, products are displayed attractively, and prices are correct. Your role is to help boost sales by making the store look appealing and ensuring customers can easily find what they need.

Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Count and organize stock for merchandising
✔️ Unpack deliveries and document received products
✔️ Set up attractive product displays to grab customer attention
✔️ Rotate stock to ensure freshness and quality
✔️ Keep track of inventory levels and report shortages
✔️ Adjust displays for special promotions or seasonal sales
✔️ Use props, lights, and signage to enhance store layout
✔️ Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including storage areas
✔️ Engage with customers—help them find products and provide recommendations
✔️ Report damaged or expired products

🎯 Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this role, you need:

✅ Matric Certificate (National Senior Certificate)
✅ Previous experience in Merchandising, Sales, or Customer Service
✅ Fluent in English (written and spoken)
✅ Clear criminal record
✅ Must live within 15km of the job location
✅ Must have a smartphone with at least 10GB of storage
✅ Comfortable traveling between multiple stores if needed

Bonus (Not required but preferred):
➕ Previous experience as a Merchandiser or in a similar field
➕ Great communication skills
➕ Ability to work with different teams (sales, marketing, etc.)
