About the Shop Assistant / Cashier Role

The main purpose of this role is to provide outstanding customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of the point of sale (POS). You will process customer purchases accurately, assist with merchandising, maintain housekeeping standards, and promote Clicks promotions and loyalty programmes.

You will also represent the Clicks brand by creating a friendly and welcoming shopping experience for every customer.

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, your daily responsibilities may include:

• Operating the point of sale (POS) system efficiently
• Scanning merchandise accurately
• Processing customer payments
• Handling cash safely and responsibly

• Promoting the Clicks ClubCard programme
• Registering new ClubCard members
• Informing customers about current promotions and special offers
• Helping customers save money through available rewards
• Maintaining attractive product displays
• Replenishing stock on shelves
• Keeping the store clean and organised
• Following merchandising standards
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Learning about new products, promotions, and store events

Minimum Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)

Advantageous Requirements

The following will improve your chances of being shortlisted:

• Previous experience in a customer-facing retail environment
• Experience in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)
• At least 50% in Mathematics at Grade 12 level
• At least 50% in English at Grade 12 level
