What This Job Is About

The Shop Assistant Cashier job is a mix of working at the point-of-sale (POS), handling cash, helping customers, and making sure the shop looks good. You’ll be the face of the Clicks brand — friendly, fast, and helpful — making sure every customer has a “feel good and pay less” experience.

What You’ll Be Doing Every Day

As part of your daily tasks, you will:

• Work the till and scan products quickly and accurately
• Accept cash, card, and voucher payments safely and responsibly
• Promote and sign up new ClubCard members to help boost sales
• Talk to customers about promotions, helping them save money
• Offer top-notch service to every shopper — always with a smile
• Restock shelves and keep displays tidy
• Make sure the store follows neatness and housekeeping standards
• Learn about new products and deals so you can help customers better
• Follow all safety, company, and store rules while working

You’ll be trained to handle both customers and stock confidently, and your job will have a big impact on how customers feel about shopping at Clicks.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Essential: Grade 12 / Matric
• Desirable: At least 50% in Maths and English in Matric

Experience:

• Desirable: Some experience working with people (e.g. in a shop, cashier, restaurant), but not required
