Are you an experienced truck driver looking for a stable job with good pay and long-term growth? Do you have a Code 14 license and crane operating skills? If yes, then this job might be perfect for you!
📌 What You’ll Be Doing
As a Code 14 Truck Driver, your main job will be to transport materials, operate cranes, and assist with on-site installations. You’ll be responsible for making sure deliveries happen on time and helping with various tasks at job sites.
✅ What You Need to Apply
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- ✔ Valid Code EC (old Code 14) driver’s license
- ✔ Valid PDP license
- ✔ Crane Operator Certificate (must handle at least 6,100kg weight)
- ✔ Ability to read, write, and speak Afrikaans
- ✔ Minimum Grade 10 qualification
- ✔ 2–5 years of truck driving experience
- ✔ 2–5 years of experience in a technical or mechanical environment
- ✔ Good physical fitness (this is a physically demanding job)
- ✔ No history of excessive drinking – must have sober habits
- ✔ Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and weekends
- ✔ A positive attitude, strong sense of responsibility, and good work ethic
- ✔ Ability to work alone or in a team
- ✔ Punctuality and good time management skills
🚚 Job Responsibilities
If you’re hired, here’s what you’ll be doing on a daily basis:
🔄 Transport & Deliveries
- Pick up and deliver materials, equipment, and poles
- Drive to different locations using a Truck and LDV
🏗 Site Work & Operations
- Operate cranes and cherry pickers (man baskets)
- Help with cable installations
- Assist with installing mini substations and plinths
- Help with pole planting and erecting overhead power lines
🔧 Truck & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck and crane
- Keep all equipment clean and properly stored
📝 Admin & Paperwork
- Fill out timesheets and job cards
- Keep a logbook of all work done
- Help with ordering diesel, truck parts, and crane parts
🏠 General Yard Duties
- Assist with yard maintenance and other general work
