What Does a Shop Assistant Do at CODE?
As a Shop Assistant, your main goal is to give customers a great shopping experience. You’ll help customers find what they need, keep the store looking fresh, and support the team to meet sales goals. Your key tasks will include:
- Providing outstanding customer service every day.
- Processing customer purchases quickly and accurately at the tills.
- Helping customers choose products to increase the value of their purchases.
- Making sure new and restocked items are displayed on the sales floor.

What Are the Requirements?
- Grade 12 certificate.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar retail or customer service role.
- Ability to stay calm and work well under pressure.
- Good time management and ability to focus on details.
- Basic computer skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service orientation.
- Confidence and the ability to work independently.
