The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) invites suitably qualified South Africans to apply for their Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV) Vacancies (53 Posts) for the October 2025 intake. These positions are available across South Africa and come with a 36-month contract and a salary of R85 620 per year (Level 05), plus 37% in lieu of benefits.
Have you ever wondered who ensures that prison inmates are treated fairly and that their rights are respected? Independent Correctional Centre Visitors are appointed to visit correctional centres daily, listen to inmates’ concerns, and report any issues related to their treatment or conditions.
This role is part of the Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) programme, which promotes fairness, transparency, and accountability inside South Africa’s correctional facilities.
