About the Job

Key Duties and Responsibilities

If hired as a Dis-Chem Cleaner, your daily tasks will include:

• Making sure the store floor, restrooms, canteen, and other areas are always clean and hygienic.
• Cleaning the store before opening hours to maintain a professional and fresh environment.
• Stocking restrooms and canteen with necessary supplies at all times.
• Being available during trading hours to clean up spills, dust, or dirt when needed.
• Using the correct cleaning products and equipment for different areas.
• Ensuring wet floor signs are clearly placed when cleaning.
• Following health and safety rules to keep the store safe for staff and customers.
• Assisting customers in a friendly and professional way if approached.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Store Cleaner role, you must meet the following essential requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• At least 6 months’ cleaning experience.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
• Basic customer service skills.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Advantageous Qualifications

Although not compulsory, the following will be an advantage:

• Being bilingual.
• Previous experience cleaning in a retail store environment.
