💼 Job Purpose

As a Casual Cashier, you’ll support customers at the till point, ensuring a smooth shopping experience. You’ll be responsible for processing transactions accurately, handling returns, and delivering excellent customer service.

✅ Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you must have:

• 📜 Matric (Grade 12)
• 🧾 At least 6 months’ cashier or till experience
• 💻 Basic computer skills (MS Office)
• 🔢 Good numerical skills
• 🗣️ Fluent in English
• 😄 Strong customer service skills
• 🕒 Willing to work retail hours
• 🚗 Reliable transport or live near the store

🛒 Job Duties & Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be doing as a Dis-Chem Casual Cashier:

• Welcome customers and build a professional relationship
• Handle payments, process loyalty cards, vouchers, and refunds
• Stay updated on promotions and deals
• Keep all transactions accurate and secure
• Report customer feedback and any suspicious behavior
• Assist with queries about store products
• Make sure stock is paid for before it leaves the store
• Work according to Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles
• Always be trustworthy and follow SOPs
• Keep money and store assets safe and confidential
