✅ Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (Matric)
• Grade C PSIRA Accreditation
• Minimum of 3 years’ general experience in the retail sector (e.g. shopping malls, warehouses)
• Must be a South African citizen
• No criminal record (MIE, credit, and background checks will apply)

Advantageous:

• At least 1 year of direct experience in a similar security role
• Driver’s License and PDP (if applicable for driver security roles)
• Ability to speak a third language (beneficial but not mandatory)

📝 Job Responsibilities

As a Dis-Chem Security Guard, you’ll be expected to:

• Provide on-site security services in line with PSIRA regulations and company policies
• Patrol premises regularly, monitor surveillance systems, and prevent unauthorized access
• Control access for visitors, staff, and vehicles – including searching when necessary
• Monitor for and report suspicious activity, theft, or disorderly conduct
• Respond to emergencies, including fire, theft, or safety violations
• Assist in opening and closing procedures
• Complete occurrence books and reports
• Ensure all assets, staff, and customers are safe and secure
• Follow standard operating procedures during crises (armed robbery, fire, evacuation, etc.)
• Act professionally and courteously at all times when dealing with customers and staff
