DSV Learnership Now Open – No Experience Needed! Train in the Logistics Industry (12-Month Contract)

DSV invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Warehouse Worker Learnership Opportunities. The closing date is not yet confirmed, so early application is highly recommended.

Are you between the ages of 18 and 30 and eager to start a career in logistics? DSV, a global leader in transport and logistics, is now offering 12-month paid learnerships in warehouse and transport operations. This is your chance to gain valuable skills, earn while you learn, and open the door to future job opportunities in one of the fastest-growing industries in South Africa.

This full-time learnership offers young, motivated individuals the opportunity to receive hands-on experience in warehouse operations, logistics planning, freight handling, and more — with no prior work experience needed. If you’re serious about building your career in logistics, this is a golden opportunity you don’t want to miss.

What is the DSV Learnership?

The DSV Learnership is a 12-month training program where you’ll work full-time and learn everything you need to know about the logistics and supply chain industry. You’ll be placed in one of several specialized NQF-accredited training courses, based on your strengths and interests.

Training Areas Include:

  • Warehouse Supervision (NQF 4)
  • Road Transport Supervision (NQF 4)
  • Business Administration (NQF 4)
  • Transport Operations (NQF 4)
  • Freight Forwarding & Customs Clearance (NQF 3)
  • Freight Handling (NQF 3)
  • Project Management
  • Lifting Machine Training (NQF 3 & 4)

Your specific course will be discussed during your interview, depending on where your skills and interests fit best.

What Will You Do Every Day?

Here’s what your daily tasks might look like during the learnership:

  • Assist with warehouse operations – packing, loading, unloading, storing, and organizing goods.
  • Learn about customs procedures and international shipping rules.
  • Help complete admin duties like reports and order forms.
  • Participate in project planning and execution.
  • Learn how to safely use lifting machines and other warehouse equipment.
  • Help keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Understand how to manage transport routes and scheduling.
  • Gain knowledge on how to move goods safely and legally on the road.
  • Learn how to work as part of a team in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the DSV Learnership, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Have a Matric certificate (Grade 12).
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Live within 15km of the job location.
  • Be willing to commit to the full 12-month program.
  • Be between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Have access to reliable transport.

What If You Don’t Have Experience?

No problem! This learnership is designed for entry-level job seekers. Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is helpful, but not required. What matters most is your willingness to learn, work hard, and grow with the company.

As part of the application process, you’ll need to:

  • Complete a Work Performance Assessment to test your readiness.
  • Answer questions about your availability and location.
  • Be open to telephonic interviews.
  • Confirm your contact number and location during your application.

You’ll also be asked if you’re currently part of any other training or learnership. If not — and you’re committed — you’re one step closer to joining the DSV family.

Why Should You Apply?

  • You get paid while you learn.
  • You’ll gain real workplace experience that looks great on a CV.
  • You could be hired permanently after completing the learnership.
  • You get nationally recognized NQF qualifications.
  • You’ll learn in-demand skills that open doors in the logistics and transport industry.
  • You’ll work for a global brand with a strong local presence.
