Purpose of the Role

The main goal of the Delivery Driver is to safely operate company trucks while ensuring timely, accurate deliveries to customers. This role involves maintaining vehicle roadworthiness, communicating effectively with customers and team members, and following strict safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Code 14 Delivery Driver, you will be expected to:

Drive safely and ensure all goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
Conduct pre-trip inspections to check the truck’s roadworthiness.
Keep accurate records of all activities, including mileage, fuel use, and delivery receipts.
Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse teams, and other stakeholders.
Report any mechanical issues or truck maintenance needs promptly.
Follow all company policies, road traffic laws, and safety guidelines.
Keep the truck clean, organized, and stocked with necessary delivery documents and tools.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed to ensure safety.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and coaching to improve performance.
Support the team in achieving overall operational goals.

Minimum Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have:

Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
3–5 years of proven driving experience, preferably in the FMCG retail industry.
A valid Code 14 (EC) or Code 10 license and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
