Econofoods Invites Suitably Qualified Applicants to Apply for Their Service Assistant (Cleaner) Vacancies. The Closing Date for Applications Will Be Communicated to Shortlisted Candidates.
Econofoods, through WHM Recruitment Advisors, is offering an exciting opportunity for hardworking and reliable individuals to join its growing team as a Service Assistant (Cleaner). This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in cleanliness, enjoys working in an office environment, and understands how important a clean workspace is for both staff and visitors. If you are dependable, detail-focused, and ready to be part of a supportive and energetic workplace, this position could be a great match for you.
Econofoods is a fast-growing FMCG retail company that focuses on frozen foods. The company is known for offering quality products at affordable prices while keeping customer satisfaction at the centre of everything they do. What truly sets Econofoods apart is its strong workplace culture, known as the HO HOLA culture, which is built on appreciation, recognition, and teamwork. Every employee matters, and everyone’s contribution is valued.
As a Service Assistant (Cleaner), your main responsibility will be to ensure that office spaces are always clean, neat, and welcoming. You will help create an environment where employees can work comfortably and guests feel welcomed the moment they walk in. Cleanliness plays a big role in how a company is experienced, and this position supports that experience every day.
This is not just about cleaning. It is about taking responsibility for shared spaces and making sure standards are maintained at all times. Your attention to detail and commitment to doing the job properly will directly contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere.
Your daily tasks will include general cleaning in and around office buildings. This involves dusting and polishing office desks, chairs, and other furniture to keep workspaces looking professional and tidy. Floors in offices, reception areas, boardrooms, and kitchens will need to be swept, mopped, or vacuumed regularly to maintain cleanliness.
Kitchen areas require special attention. You will clean sinks, fridges, stoves, ovens, cupboards, and countertops. Washing, drying, and packing dishes is also part of your responsibility. Keeping kitchens clean helps maintain hygiene and ensures that staff have a pleasant space to use during the day.
Glass surfaces such as windows, windowsills, and doors will need spot cleaning to remove marks and dust. Corners and surface areas should also be checked and cleaned to keep the office looking neat. You may also be responsible for watering plants, helping to maintain a fresh and welcoming environment.
Another important part of the role is managing waste and organisation. You will empty bins in offices, kitchens, restrooms, and shared areas on a regular basis. Picking up objects from the floor and making sure walkways are clear helps keep the office safe and organised.
You will be responsible for setting up, stocking, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies. This means making sure you always have the tools you need and that equipment is stored neatly after use. Keeping assigned areas sanitised and well-organised is a key expectation in this role.
The reception area must always be neat and presentable, as it is often the first place visitors see. You may also be asked to assist with setting up boardrooms for meetings by preparing tea, coffee, water, or refreshments when needed.
This role requires teamwork. You may be asked to assist other departments when needed to ensure that guests and staff receive the best possible service. Being flexible and willing to help where required is important.
Econofoods values strong interpersonal skills. You are expected to work well with others, communicate respectfully, and show a high level of responsibility and reliability. Living out the HO HOLA culture means being friendly, helpful, and supportive while taking pride in your work.
To apply for this position, you should have at least two years of proven experience working as a cleaner or general worker in an office environment. This experience helps ensure that you understand office cleaning standards and expectations.
You should have a basic understanding of cleaning principles and be willing to follow company policies and procedures. The ability to work independently is important, as you may need to complete tasks without constant supervision. You should also be able to work under pressure when needed.
Being able to read and write in English is required, as this helps with understanding instructions, safety guidelines, and communication with colleagues.
Econofoods is looking for someone with strong people skills and a positive attitude. You should be punctual, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Attention to detail is very important, as small things can make a big difference in an office environment.
You should have good communication skills, be well-organised, and maintain good personal hygiene and appearance. High energy levels and a strong work ethic will help you succeed in this role, especially in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Working as a Service Assistant (Cleaner) at Econofoods gives you the chance to be part of a growing company that values its people. You will work in a supportive environment where effort is noticed and appreciated. This role offers stability, teamwork, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a successful business.
If you are someone who takes pride in your work and wants to be part of a company that recognises every contribution, this opportunity through WHM Recruitment Advisors could be the right step for you.
