Eskom 10 YES Learner Opportunities – Don’t Miss Out Before 5 November 2025!

Looking to kickstart your career and get real work experience? Eskom’s Youth Employment Services (YES) program is calling on young people across South Africa to apply for 10 learner positions in the LimLanga Cluster under Eskom’s Distribution Division. These spots offer a chance to learn and grow in a booming energy company, with contracts lasting for 12 months. The deadline to apply is 5 November 2025, so make sure you don’t miss this chance.

Eskom’s YES program is part of a bigger plan started by the South African Presidency to help tackle the big problem of youth unemployment. The goal is to give young people like you a life-changing opportunity to enter the workforce and get valuable, hands-on experience. Eskom, as a leader in the energy sector, wants to open doors for those hungry for a fresh start in their careers.

What Jobs Are Available?

Eskom needs 10 YES Learners for task grade YY1. You will be working in the Asset Creation department as part of the LimLanga Cluster. These jobs are spread across different locations, so there’s a good chance you’ll find a spot near you. The positions cover various areas, which means you can get involved in a range of tasks and skills related to Eskom’s operations.

Who Can Apply?

Eskom is looking for motivated young South Africans who meet these basic requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be between 18 and 34 years old
  • Must have at least a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, or a post-matric certificate or program

There are some important rules for who can join YES:

  • You must not have had a permanent job with the same employer for more than one year
  • You cannot be studying full time during the year you are employed
  • You should not have been in the YES program before

How Does the Selection Work?

If you qualify, you will go through a recruitment process. If you are successful, you will be placed in one of Eskom’s operations anywhere across South Africa. This means you could work in any province where Eskom is active. Keep in mind, if you don’t hear back within 28 days after the closing date, your application probably wasn’t successful.

Why Join Eskom YES?

This program is not just another job opportunity. It is meant to help young people gain important skills and work experience that can boost their future careers. You get to work in South Africa’s large and important electricity company where you’ll learn how the energy industry works. It’s a great way to get your foot in the door and start building a career with plenty of potential.

Eskom’s Commitment to Fairness and Inclusion

Eskom strongly supports equality, diversity, and fairness in hiring. The company may give preference to candidates from groups that are under-represented in the workforce. Inclusive hiring is part of Eskom’s plan, and they encourage people with disabilities to apply. Eskom also ensures a smoke-free environment for all employees and visitors.

Need Help Applying?

If you need any support during the application process, Eskom has a dedicated candidate support team. You can contact them by emailing Candidate.support@ci.hr for help whether you are inside or outside the company.

If you’re ready to take the first step into a career that offers growth and learning, this is your moment.
