Eskom, South Africa’s largest power utility, is offering 152 youth jobs across the country as part of its Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme 2025. No work experience is required. All you need is Grade 12 or an equivalent certificate, and you could be earning, learning, and building your career for 12 full months.

What Is the Eskom YES Programme?

The goal? To give youth the tools they need to build their careers while improving the diversity and skills pipeline in industries like energy.

If selected, you will work at an Eskom site near your province, helping with tasks that support daily operations while learning about South Africa’s energy system from the inside.

Minimum Requirements

You can apply if:

You are a South African citizen
You are between 18 and 34 years old
You have Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification, or a post-matric certificate
You are not studying full time during the year of the programme
You have not worked in a permanent job with one employer for more than a year
You have never participated in a YES Programme before

What Kind of Work Will You Be Doing?

While this is an entry-level opportunity, you’ll still gain valuable experience across various departments. Your key responsibilities may include:

Helping with basic admin and support tasks
