Eskom NTCSA Opens Artisan Learnerships for 2025 – No Experience Needed, Apply Now Before 20 May!

Your Future Starts Here – Join Eskom’s Artisan Training Programme

If you just finished school and are wondering what comes next, Eskom has a great opportunity for you. The company is offering a three-year learnership that will train you to become a qualified Artisan. This means you’ll learn while you earn, gain real work experience, and build a skill that South Africa needs.

What Is the Artisan Learnership About?

This training programme is focused on the Electrical Discipline, and it’s more than just studying—it’s real work. Over the 3 years, you’ll:

  • Receive training in a technical classroom (institutionalised training),
  • Do practical work in the field (on-the-job training),
  • Be fully prepared to take the Trade Test Certificate to become a qualified Artisan.

You will get hands-on experience in the energy field while learning valuable life and work skills. By the end of the learnership, you’ll have what it takes to start your career in the electrical trade.

Who Can Apply?

Eskom is looking for people who are motivated, responsible, and ready to learn. You must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Option 1:

  • Grade 12 with:
    • Maths: at least 50%
    • Physical Science: at least 50%
    • English: at least 40%

Option 2:

  • N3 Engineering with at least 40% in English

Option 3:

  • NCV Level 4 with:
    • Physical Science: 50%
    • Maths: 50%
    • English: 40%

If you meet any one of these combinations, you’re eligible to apply.

To do well in this learnership, you should have the following skills and qualities:

  • Good communication (both written and verbal)
  • High motivation and a strong work ethic
  • Be safety-conscious and follow rules carefully
  • Be disciplined and focused
  • Be emotionally strong and able to work under pressure
  • Basic computer literacy is helpful
