Eskom Invites Young South Africans to Apply for Their Youth Employment Service (YES) Vacancies (X30 Posts). The closing date for applications is 15 July 2025.
Are you between the ages of 18 and 34, eager to work, but don’t have any job experience yet? Eskom, South Africa’s top electricity supplier, is giving 30 young people a chance to join their 2025 YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme at Duvha Power Station in Mpumalanga. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get work experience, earn an income, and build your career in the energy sector — all without needing a university degree.
This programme is part of a big plan by the government to fight youth unemployment. It’s aimed at helping young South Africans who are struggling to find a job. If you just finished school or college and want to learn new skills while working for a major company, this is the chance you’ve been waiting for.
The YES Programme (Youth Employment Service) is a 12-month job placement initiative. It helps young people gain real work experience by placing them in companies like Eskom. You’ll sign a fixed-term contract and be placed in different departments at Duvha Power Station.
This isn’t just a job – it’s a stepping stone to something bigger. The goal is to help you grow professionally, understand how a big company works, and maybe even open the door to future job opportunities in the energy field.
To apply for this opportunity, you must:
That’s all you need to qualify. You don’t need any previous job experience or a fancy degree. Eskom is looking for young people with potential, not perfection.
Eskom is not just hiring anyone. They are looking for people who:
If you’re the kind of person who shows up on time, pays attention, and is willing to learn — you’re already halfway there.
If you’re chosen, you’ll be placed in one of the many departments at Duvha Power Station. Your responsibilities will include:
You’ll be treated like a real employee, learning how to work in a professional setting and gaining skills you can use for life.
If you meet all of the above, you’re good to go. Just make sure your documents are ready.
Eskom believes in equal job opportunities. They welcome applicants from all backgrounds and give preference to those from previously disadvantaged groups, in line with their BBBEE and equity goals.
People living with disabilities are also encouraged to apply. Eskom supports a smoke-free and healthy work environment.
You can apply in two ways:
Don’t Miss Out! Applications Close on 15 July 2025.
