What Does a Ramp Agent Do at FlySafair?

A Ramp Agent plays a big role in making sure that every flight takes off safely and on time. It’s all about teamwork, following rules, and thinking fast.

Here’s what your job will include:

Making sure safety rules (especially around dangerous goods) are always followed
Keeping the area around aircraft safe and secure
Helping with communication between cabin crew and ground staff
Watching over the loading and unloading of luggage and cargo
Updating the ground handling team if the flight load changes
Helping with smooth aircraft turnarounds by making sure all staff are ready
Doing ramp safety checks and inspections
Keeping ramp vehicles clean and full of fuel
Driving crew members when needed
Making sure flights depart on time by checking if services like fuel and cleaning are ready
Supporting passenger services and baggage handling
Reporting any incidents or flight delays
Working with other departments to coordinate daily flight operations
Performing foreign object debris (FOD) checks and other safety tasks

This job is very active and full of variety. You’ll be moving around a lot, working outside, and always staying alert to make sure things run smoothly.

Who Can Apply?

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
At least 2 years’ experience in aviation, like working in baggage handling, ramp services, or passenger services
A Code 08 Driver’s License (this is a must)
No criminal record
Basic knowledge of how airports work and airside safety
Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage your time well
Computer literacy
