What You Will Be Doing on a Daily Basis

Front Desk and Visitor Support

As the receptionist, your main role will be to welcome and assist all visitors and employees in a polite and professional way. You will make sure everyone feels comfortable and guided when they arrive at the office. This also includes keeping the reception area clean, neat, and presentable at all times, as it reflects FlySafair’s image and standards.

Switchboard and Call Handling

You will be responsible for operating the company switchboard. This means answering incoming calls, listening carefully to understand the caller’s needs, and directing calls to the correct department or person. Good communication skills and confidence on the phone are very important in this part of the job.

Courier and Delivery Coordination

Another key duty is coordinating outgoing deliveries and courier collections. You will make sure packages are sent and collected on time and that communication between departments runs smoothly. This helps the business operate efficiently.


Access Permits, Crew Cards, and Security Support

Managing Access Permits

A big part of this role involves access permits. You will create and issue access permits according to FlySafair and ACSA security rules. This includes handling the full process of applying for new permits and renewing existing ones for employees and contractors.

Monitoring Expiry Dates

You will also keep track of upcoming permit expiry dates. This means making sure permits are reprinted and sent out on time to all bases, so no one is delayed or denied access due to expired documents.

Liaising With ACSA and Internal Teams

In this role, you will regularly communicate with ACSA offices and different internal departments. You will help coordinate paperwork, appointments, and approvals related to access permits and crew cards.


Administrative and Support Duties

Database and Record Keeping

You will maintain and update the employee access permit database. This includes making sure employee details, photos, access levels, and expiry dates are always correct and up to date. Attention to detail is very important here.

Vehicle Logbooks and Car Wash Scheduling

The receptionist will also monitor and update the company vehicle logbook, ensuring everything is recorded correctly and follows company rules. In addition, you will help manage the scheduling and administration of company car wash services.

General Office Support

You will provide general administrative support to the HR & Corporate Services team whenever needed. This makes the role ideal for someone who enjoys variety and learning different office tasks.


Minimum Requirements to Apply

Education and Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification is essential.
  • A Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or a related field will be an advantage.

Work Experience

  • You must have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a receptionist, front-office, helpdesk, or administrative support role.
  • Experience in aviation, a corporate office, or a customer service environment will be an added benefit.
  • Experience with switchboards, visitor management systems, or access control processes will also count in your favour.
