What Does the Cleaner Job Involve?
As a Cleaner at Food Lovers Market, your job is to make sure the stores, office buildings, and other spaces are always clean, neat, and welcoming. You’ll play an important role in keeping customers and staff comfortable and happy by making sure everything is spotless.
Your Daily Duties Will Include:
- Cleaning all areas around the store or office.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and picking up rubbish.
- Cleaning glass surfaces and windows.
- Restocking toilet paper, hand soap, and other supplies in restrooms.
- Cleaning toilets, mirrors, urinals, and restroom walls.
- Taking out trash and replacing bin liners.
- Setting up and organizing your cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Making sure everything stays clean and in order during your shift.
- Taking dirty linens to the laundry area and replacing them with clean ones.
- Helping other departments when needed.
- Completing extra tasks as requested.
- Reporting anything unsafe or broken.
- Showing great teamwork and communication skills.
- Working well with others and solving small problems on your own.
What You Need to Qualify
To apply for this role, you must meet the following:
- Have a Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Be fluent in English.
- Live within 25 km of the job location.
- Have a clear criminal record.
- Be willing and able to work shifts.

- You’re between the ages of 18 to 65.
- You have past experience as a cleaner or general worker.
- You are an EE/AA candidate.
- You’ve used cleaning machines or tools before.
- You’re responsible, trustworthy, and ready to work without needing to be watched.
- You know how to spot safety problems and handle them correctly.
