About the Role

The main purpose of this job is to transport bulk material from one site to another safely and on time. As a tipper truck driver, you will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by ensuring that loads are delivered properly while following strict safety rules and company policies.

Your duties will include driving, loading, and offloading materials, as well as performing inspections to keep the truck in good working condition.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Code C1 Driver’s License with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Tipper Truck Operator competency certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience driving and operating tipper trucks.
  • Previous experience working in an earthmoving environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tipper Truck Driver at Fraser Alexander, you will be responsible for:

1. Transporting and Handling Materials

  • Loading, transporting, and offloading soil, gravel, or other bulk materials.
  • Making sure loads are evenly distributed to prevent tipping hazards.
  • Following site rules and road safety regulations at all times.

2. Safety and Compliance

  • Wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety boots, high-visibility vests, and hard hats.
  • Reporting accidents, injuries, or truck issues immediately.
  • Following company and legal rules for truck operation, driving hours, and load limits.

3. Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance

  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to check brakes, tires, lights, fluid levels, and hydraulics.
  • Completing inspection reports and reporting any problems to your supervisor.
  • Keeping the truck clean and well-maintained at all times.

4. Reporting and Record-Keeping

  • Recording details of trips, hours worked, and materials transported.
  • Submitting accurate daily truck reports.
