What Is the Teach The Nation Scholarship?

Teach The Nation (TTN) is building a nationwide network of talented and driven educators who are committed to solving South Africa’s education crisis from the inside out. As part of TTN’s two-year leadership scholarship, you won’t just teach — you’ll lead with purpose.

You’ll receive coaching, classroom support, leadership training, and access to exclusive career-building resources that will shape you into a confident, high-impact educator. And the best part? It’s fully funded.


Who Should Apply?

This program is perfect for newly qualified educators who are passionate, driven, and ready to make a difference.

You can apply if you:

  • Graduated within the last year with a Bachelor of Education or a PGCE.
  • Are between the ages of 22 and 35.
  • Are a South African citizen.
  • Are SACE registered or in the process of registering.
  • Are willing to teach in rural, township, or urban schools in the Western Cape.
  • Are qualified to teach in any of the following phases:
    • Foundation Phase
    • Intermediate Phase
    • Senior Phase
    • FET (Further Education and Training)

You should also be able to teach in subjects such as:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths)
  • Languages (Home or First Additional Languages)
  • IT, Coding, and Robotics
