Gauteng Social Development Internship 2025: 202 Posts Available for Social Work and Social Auxiliary Work Graduates

The Gauteng Department of Social Development is inviting suitably qualified applicants to apply for its 2025 Internship Programme (X202 Posts). Available Internship Positions

1. Social Work Internship (REFS/022686) – X149 Posts

Requirements:

  • BA Degree in Social Work.
  • Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).

Duties:

  • Gain practical workplace exposure as a social work graduate.
  • Be prepared for placement across Gauteng’s social development corridors and institutions.

2. Social Auxiliary Work Internship (REFS/022668) – X53 Posts

Requirements:

  • FETC NQF Level 4 or 5 in Social Auxiliary Work.
  • Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).

Duties:

  • Participate in hands-on work training in the social services sector.
  • Be available for placement throughout Gauteng institutions.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for these internships, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Have completed the required qualifications for either Social Work or Social Auxiliary Work.
  • Be registered with the relevant professional council (SACSSP).
