• Ensuring that service in the Centenary Café always meets quality expectations.
• Cleaning food preparation, serving equipment, and service areas after meal times.
• Following all Food Safety and Hygiene Standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, safe work habits, and good personal appearance at all times.
• Carrying out any extra duties that may be assigned.
• Being willing to work overtime or weekends when the job requires it.

Who Can Apply?

GBS is looking for motivated and reliable individuals who already understand the basics of canteen or restaurant work. To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric is an added advantage, but not compulsory.
• At least one to two years of experience as a General Assistant in a canteen, restaurant, catering service, or similar environment.
• A culinary qualification is an added advantage.
• You must already be employed within the company for at least six months.
• Over the last three months, you must meet all these requirements:
  • 90% average attendance.
  • No active warnings on your file.
  • Not part of any performance improvement programme.
• You must inform your line manager before applying.
