This HR Administration Learnership will allow you to work in a positive and supportive environment while building skills that will help you in the future.

About the HR Administration Learnership

As an HR Learner, you will be part of Givaudan’s Human Resources Department. You will assist the HR team with daily duties and learn how the department works from the inside. The learnership lasts for one year, giving you time to understand HR processes, administration work, and employee support systems.

You will be exposed to different areas of HR such as recruitment, onboarding, payroll, training, and general office support. This means you will come out of this programme with many new skills that can help you find better job opportunities in the future.

Recruitment Duties You Will Handle

One of your important roles will be to support the recruitment process. This is how new employees are found and hired. You will help by:

  • Posting job advertisements on the company’s Engage system
  • Updating the recruitment portal
  • Screening and checking potential candidates
  • Setting up interviews with managers
  • Sending confirmation emails to applicants
  • Helping with reference and background checks
  • Assisting at career fairs and recruitment events

This experience will teach you how companies choose the right people for the right jobs.

Onboarding and Employee Files

Once someone is hired, the onboarding process begins. As part of this, you will:

  • Help welcome new employees into the company
  • Assist with orientation sessions
  • Create and organise employee files
  • Update staff records to follow labour laws and company rules

This part of the job helps you understand how important organisation and accuracy are in HR.

Payroll and Salary Administration

Another important area you will be trained in is payroll preparation. This includes:

  • Helping with weekly wage preparation
  • Calculating working hours using timesheets
  • Checking overtime and shift allowances
  • Updating temporary employee contracts

These skills are valuable because payroll is one of the most important parts of any company.

Training and Development Support

You will also be involved in helping employees grow through training by:

  • Finding accredited training providers
  • Updating training records
  • Making sure employees attend training sessions
  • Scheduling training in staff diaries
  • Following up on attendance and certificates

This will show you how companies invest in their employees and help them develop professionally.

General Office and HR Support

As an HR Learner, you will also assist with:

  • Wellness initiatives for staff
  • Filing and organizing documents
  • Processing purchase orders using SAP
  • Supporting HR policies and procedures
  • Handling general administration tasks

These responsibilities will help you become confident in an office environment.

Minimum Requirements To Apply

To be considered for this learnership, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Diploma or Degree in HR or Business Administration, or be currently studying towards one
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Have good communication and people skills
  • Be organised and able to handle more than one task at a time
  • Pay strong attention to detail
  • Be honest, reliable, and professional

Preference will be given to candidates who support Givaudan’s employment equity plans.

Why You Should Apply

This is not just a learnership. It is a real opportunity to step into a professional world where you will learn, grow, and build your future. You will work with experienced professionals, gain practical knowledge, and become confident in a corporate environment.

Givaudan also supports diversity and inclusion, meaning everyone is welcome and respected. Your background does not limit your potential here.

Take the step. Your future in Human Resources could begin right here.
