✅ Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum Education: Grade 11 or an equivalent NQF qualification
• Driver’s License: Code 08 or 10 is required
• Certificates: Must have an MQA Competency B Certificate, including relevant operating licenses and training
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience working in a trackless mining environment
• Language: Must be able to speak English clearly and understand instructions; knowledge of any other official South African language is a plus
• Citizenship: You must be a legal South African citizen
• Criminal Record: Must be clean
• Medical: You need to be declared medically fit by the company’s Occupational Health Practitioner (OHP)

⚒️ What Will You Do?

As an Operator for the Manitou machine, your responsibilities are key to the daily operations of the mine. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Work a rotation of shifts as scheduled
• Operate the Manitou machine safely and efficiently
• Help with maintenance tasks during your shift, including checking oil, lubrication, and fuel
• Use the Manitou for carrying and transporting heavy equipment, installing pipes (ventilation and water), and more—often at high altitudes
• Always check the level of your machine to make sure it’s operating properly
• Report any machine faults or issues to your Supervisor or Control Room immediately
• Follow all instructions from your Supervisor, especially when working in potentially dangerous zones
• Keep your work area clean and meet mine safety standards
• Follow MHSA rules and stick to Gold One’s safety motto:
  “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”
