About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Work underground on a rotational shift schedule, assisting production teams with ore and mud sweeping.

Complete all tasks according to company standards, specifications, and instructions.
Follow MHSA safety standards and Gold One Mine’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:

Education: Grade 11 or equivalent ABET Level
Residency: Must reside in the Ekurhuleni region
Languages: Proficient in English; knowledge of any other official language is a plus
Health: Must not have claustrophobia and must be medically fit as declared by the Occupational Health Centre
Personal Attributes: Ability to adapt to change, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Legal Status: South African citizen with a clear criminal record
Communication: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Screening: Consent to criminal, illegal drugs/substances, and background checks

Training and Career Path

Successful candidates will undergo training at the company’s Training Centre for a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Upon completion, candidates may be considered for permanent employment depending on competency and availability of positions.
The training covers safety, underground procedures, and operational standards, preparing you for a full career in mining.
