Government Launches 500-Paid Work Programmes for South African Youth – Apply Before It’s Too Late

The South African Government, in partnership with the Services SETA and YES Programme, invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for the General Worker and YES Programme Vacancies (500 Posts). The closing date for applications is 30 September 2025.

Are you young, jobless, and ready to change your future? If you’re tired of sitting at home and looking for a way to earn money while gaining real work experience, this is the golden opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Two national programmes are now open to young people across all provinces in South Africa. These positions are especially meant for unemployed youth who want to kickstart their careers with a full year of paid, hands-on training.

What Jobs Are Available?

There are two exciting job openings to choose from. Here’s what you need to know:

1. General Worker Programme (200 Positions Available)

  • Monthly Stipend: R3,500
  • Reference Number: GW228_(Your Province Name)
  • Basic Requirements:
    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Must have passed Grade 10 or ABET

These roles are great for anyone who wants to start working but doesn’t have a matric yet. It’s all about getting real job experience, learning how things work, and improving your skills on the job.

2. YES (Youth Employment Service) Programme (300 Positions Available)

  • Monthly Stipend: R4,500

This opportunity is part of the national YES initiative, designed to give young people a real chance to grow. You’ll learn on the job, develop valuable work experience, and get paid at the same time.

How Long Is the Programme?

Each programme runs for 12 full months (1 year). You’ll be part of a real working environment, learning while earning, and building a future that puts you in a better place to find a full-time job afterward.

Where Can You Apply?

These jobs are available in all provinces across South Africa. No matter where you live—from Limpopo to Western Cape—you can apply today.

Don’t Miss Out on This Life-Changing Opportunity

If you’ve been struggling to get into the working world, this is your chance. You don’t need a university degree or years of experience. All you need is determination, the right documents, and a desire to grow.

Getting a job when you’re young can be hard, especially without experience. But that’s exactly what these programmes are made for—to help people like you. By the end of your 12 months, you’ll have skills, confidence, and work experience that employers look for.

Plus, you’ll be earning money every month, which can help you support your family, save for school, or invest in your goals.
