R10K a Month! IEC Logistics Internships 2025 Now Open – Limited 24-Month Opportunities for SA Graduates

The Electoral Commission (IEC) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their 2025 Logistics Internship Vacancies (Multiple Posts). The closing date for applications is 24 July 2025.

Are you a young South African graduate looking to get real work experience in logistics, supply chain, or procurement? Then this is your chance. The IEC (Electoral Commission of South Africa) is offering a 24-month paid internship at their Gauteng Provincial Office in Roodepoort, and it comes with a monthly stipend of R10,441.14.

This is a golden opportunity if you’ve finished your qualification but haven’t yet worked in your field or joined any internship program. The IEC plays a major role in running fair and free elections in South Africa, and now they’re offering you the chance to be part of that important mission while building your skills in a professional environment.

What Is the IEC Internship All About?

The IEC Logistics Internship 2025 gives you the chance to get hands-on training in logistics, procurement, and supply chain work. Over the 24 months, you’ll work closely with experienced professionals and learn how major national events — like elections — are planned and managed behind the scenes.

You’ll gain experience in:

  • Warehousing and stock-taking
  • Inbound and outbound logistics
  • Procurement and supplier management
  • Planning and organizing by-elections
  • General office administration
  • Filing, data entry, and minute-taking
  • Creating reports and presentations
  • Using computer systems for tracking and managing inventory

This is more than just a job — it’s a serious step into your career.

Do You Qualify?

To be accepted, you’ll need to meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be 35 years old or younger
  • Be unemployed
  • Never worked in your field of study before
  • Not have joined any other internship program
  • Have Matric (Grade 12, N3, or NQF Level 4)
  • Have a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Logistics
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Procurement

If you’ve already worked in your field or done an internship, this one isn’t for you — it’s strictly for first-time work seekers in this field.

What You’ll Be Doing

Once accepted, you’ll join the team at the IEC Gauteng Provincial Office. Your role will include:

  • Helping with supplier tracking and procurement planning
  • Supporting the team during by-elections and special events
  • Managing inventory systems, auditing, and tracking stock
  • Working on delivery scheduling and confirming supplier documents
  • Attending team meetings, writing reports, and handling admin tasks
  • Keeping systems and records organized and up to date
  • Learning how public service logistics work in a real-world setting

You won’t just be watching from the sidelines — you’ll be part of the action, making a difference in how elections run across the country.

What Skills You Need to Succeed

The IEC is looking for graduates who are serious about learning and ready to work hard. You should have:

  • Good communication skills – speaking and writing
  • Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to work well with others – teamwork matters here
  • Time management – meet deadlines and stay organized
  • Problem-solving skills – think on your feet
  • A great eye for detail – accuracy is important
  • Willingness to learn – open to training and feedback

If this sounds like you, this internship could be your stepping stone to a real career.

How to Apply

You must send in all of the following:

  • An updated CV
  • A certified copy of your Matric certificate
  • Certified copies of your qualifications
  • A certified copy of your South African ID
  • A valid driver’s license (if you have one)
  • A SAQA certificate if your qualifications are from outside South Africa

Submit your application before 24 July 2025. If any documents are missing, or your application is late, you won’t be considered.

Important Notes

  • You must not have any prior work experience in logistics or procurement
  • Political party members or individuals with political profiles will not be accepted
  • All shortlisted applicants will go through checks, including:
    • Qualification verification
    • Criminal background checks
    • Credit checks

If you haven’t heard back from the IEC by 31 August 2025, your application was not successful.

The IEC Logistics Internship 2025 is more than just a way to gain experience — it’s a real chance to be part of something meaningful. With a monthly stipend of R10,441.14, a professional environment, and the chance to develop real-world skills, this internship gives you a competitive edge.

If you’re a graduate with a passion for logistics, procurement, or supply chain work — and you want to grow your career while helping support democracy — this opportunity is made for you.
