Impala Platinum Engineering Learnerships Open – No Experience Needed

Impala Platinum Invites Qualified Applicants to Apply for Their 1st Year Engineering Learnership Programme (Multiple Posts). The Deadline to Apply is 31 July 2025.

Are you a young, ambitious individual dreaming of a career in engineering? Impala Platinum has opened its doors for passionate and hardworking candidates to join its 2025 Engineering Learnership Programme. This is your chance to build a future in trades like Electrician, Boilermaker, Fitter, and Rigger. Whether you’re fresh out of school or already working in the field, this opportunity can change your life.

Impala Platinum is offering a unique learnership that will give you hands-on training, real-world experience, and the qualifications needed to become a skilled artisan. If you’ve got the drive and meet the basic requirements, this could be your stepping stone into a career with one of South Africa’s top mining companies.

What Is This Learnership All About?

The Engineering Learnership at Impala Platinum is designed to help learners get both theory and practical training in the engineering field. You’ll be working directly with experienced artisans and foremen, learning how to repair, build, and maintain important mining equipment. Along the way, you’ll gain skills that will not only help you qualify as an artisan, but also give you the confidence to succeed in the real world.

This isn’t just a classroom-based course. You’ll be learning on the job, working on actual machinery, and facing real challenges under the supervision of professionals.

Who Can Apply?

To apply, you must meet these minimum requirements:

  • You need an N2 qualification with four subjects, or NCV Level 4 with at least seven subjects and Maths passed above 40%.
  • You must have already completed a serviceman training programme.
  • If you’re already working in engineering, you will be given preference.

But that’s not all. Before being accepted, candidates will need to:

  • Go through an assessment and be selected for a formal interview.
  • Get a medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket).
  • Complete the RFA and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS).

What Will You Be Doing?

Once you’re accepted into the learnership, you’ll get involved in all kinds of exciting tasks that help you grow your skills:

  • Learn how to become a fully qualified artisan.
  • Help experienced artisans with real technical work, like fixing or replacing equipment.
  • Understand how to work safely and follow safety procedures.
  • Take part in on-the-job and off-the-job training phases.
  • Learn all about Impala’s rules and standards, which are key to keeping operations safe and legal.
  • Work closely with a coach who will guide you through your practical tasks.
  • Try your hand at problem-solving and basic fault-finding on equipment.
  • Help the team keep everything running smoothly and reduce equipment breakdowns.
  • Get the chance to supervise small tasks, so you can learn what it’s like to lead a team.

What Makes This a Great Opportunity?

This isn’t just any job. At Impala Platinum, you’re not treated like just another worker—you’re part of a team. The company believes in developing people from within, and this learnership is proof of that. You’ll be trained by professionals, supported by mentors, and given real responsibilities that will help you grow.

Whether you want to be an electrician, a fitter, or a rigger, this programme can take you there. You won’t just learn the theory—you’ll live the job, and come out stronger, smarter, and more skilled than when you started.

How to Apply

If you’re already working at Impala Platinum, make sure to get your line manager’s approval before applying. All applications must be in before 31 July 2025.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. These learnership positions are limited and highly sought after. If you meet the requirements and want to start your journey toward becoming a qualified artisan, now is the time to act.

Opportunities like this don’t come around every day. With full support from one of South Africa’s leading mining companies, you’ll gain the skills you need to build a strong career in engineering. If you’re committed, eager to learn, and ready to work hard, Impala Platinum’s 2025 Learnership Programme could be your gateway to a brighter future.

So, what are you waiting for?
