Job Overview

Position: General Workers
Salary Range: R132,056.87 – R198,058.31 per annum (basic salary).
Reference Number: 01/2025/01

As a General Worker, you’ll assist in maintaining roads, stormwater systems, and other infrastructure, ensuring that operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily duties will include:

Directing traffic around hazards or work sites using road signs, cones, and barricades.
Building and repairing concrete kerbing, stormwater kerb inlets, and speed humps.
Cleaning and unblocking kerb inlets and earth channels.
Repairing potholes, cracked pavement, and footways using tools and machinery.
Installing stormwater pipes and maintaining manholes.
Road marking, resurfacing, and sealing cracks.
Clearing vegetation, debris, and brush from roadways.
Excavating materials, leveling gravel roads, and spreading paving materials.
Loading and hauling sand, gravel, and other road materials.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Education: Grade 10 or NQF Level equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in road construction, maintenance, or handling building machinery and equipment.
