ESKORT is looking for a hardworking Braai/Deli Assistant to manage the Braai Area in their store. This role includes cleaning, cooking, and serving food to customers and coworkers, making it perfect for someone who enjoys working in a busy food environment.

What You Need to Get Started

• Grade 12 / Matric is a must
• A diploma or certificate from a culinary or chef school is a bonus

Experience Requirements

• Previous customer service experience or at least 6 months in retail
• Proven cooking skills, including using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
• First Aid or Fire Safety training will be an advantage

What You Should Know

• Understanding of different ingredients, cooking methods, and processes like grilling, baking, and boiling

Skills You Must Have

• Good English skills: reading, writing, and speaking
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, and managers
• Capable of setting up and managing daily production schedules in the Ready-to-Eat (RTE) department
• Follow recipes and instructions to prepare tasty, well-cooked meals
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items, and work well in a fast-paced team environment
• High energy and excellent customer service focus
• Friendly attitude and teamwork skills
• Ability to move quickly in the kitchen and handle multiple tasks at once
• Strictly follow sanitation and safety rules
• Manage time effectively
• Comfortable working in cold environments
• Participate fully in stocktaking, ensuring accuracy and proper product counting
• Help with product merchandising, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) method in the store
