What This Job Is All About

As a Lewis Driver, your main job is to deliver products safely and on time. You’ll be transporting goods from the store to customers’ homes. You must drive carefully, follow traffic rules, and give great customer service. You’ll also make sure the vehicle is in good condition and that items are loaded and delivered properly.

You’ll sometimes help with things outside your main driving duties – like assisting with in-store displays, cleaning, and other tasks to help the store run smoothly. Lewis values teamwork, so your role may go beyond just driving.

Your Daily Duties Will Include:

Checking and maintaining the vehicle – Keep it clean, check for problems, and report anything unusual.
Delivering merchandise – Make sure items go to the right customer and arrive in good condition.
Customer service – Be friendly and helpful when talking to customers and make them feel taken care of.
Follow all rules – Road safety is a big deal. You must obey traffic rules, avoid giving lifts to strangers, and keep the company safe.
Communicate clearly – Call your manager from the customer’s house if something is wrong.
Keep everything neat – Clean the loading area and help with housekeeping when needed.
Support the team – Help out with other tasks in the store when you’re not on deliveries.

What You Need to Apply:

To get this job, you’ll need to meet some basic requirements:

Matric certificate (Grade 12)
Valid Driver’s License (Code B)
Good English communication
A clean criminal record

It’s Even Better If You Also Have:

Experience as a driver (especially with Code 10/C1 vehicles)
A Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
The ability to read road maps and use GPS systems
Knowledge of local roads and traffic rules
Great customer service and communication skills
The ability to work well alone and follow safety rules
Living within 15 km of the job location
