What’s the Job About?
As a Salesperson at Lewis Store, your main job will be to help customers find the products they need. You’ll be the person who explains what the products do, why they’re great, and how they can benefit the customer.
You’ll need to have a good understanding of the products so you can give the right information and help customers make smart choices. Your role is to help boost sales and make sure every customer leaves satisfied.
What You’ll Do Every Day
Here’s a list of your daily responsibilities:
- Hit Sales Targets: Your main goal will be to achieve the store’s sales targets.
- Customer Service: You’ll provide friendly, helpful service and make sure customers get what they need.
- Product Knowledge: Learn all about the store’s merchandise to help answer any questions and provide accurate product information.
- Promotions and Displays: Help set up eye-catching promotions and maintain displays to attract more customers.
- Telephone Calls: Reach out to potential customers, making calls to those on the store’s re-serve list.
- Customer Relationships: Build strong relationships with customers by accompanying them to the cash desk and offering follow-up support.
- House Visits: Sometimes, you may need to visit customers at home to help with their purchases or solve any issues.
- After-Hours Flexibility: Work flexible hours when needed, such as evenings, to meet customers.
- Handle Complaints: Listen to customer complaints, take action to fix the issue, and keep their trust.
- Safety First: Help keep the store clean, tidy, and safe for everyone.

Requirements to Apply
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Education: A valid Matric (National Senior Certificate) or equivalent.
- Language: Good command of English.
- Location: You should live within 15km of the job location.
- Criminal Record: A clear criminal record is essential.
Preferences (Not Mandatory)
While these aren’t required, they will make you stand out:
- South African Candidates: Lewis Store prefers local applicants.
- Sales Experience: A minimum of 2 years of retail experience, especially in sales, will be an advantage.
